About Us

Our Home Manager Julie has many years experience of caring for the elderly and she oversees the smooth running of the home. Julie has been the Registered Manager at St Georges since May 2001. She has been continually employed at the home since July 1988.

The Home is fully registered by the Care Quality Commission and Suffolk County Council to offer long and short-term, respite and holiday care for a relative or loved one.

We have a quiet lounge, communal lounge and dining space, an onsite hairdressing salon, beautifully maintained private gardens and Dexter the puppy, who is loved by all the residents and staff.
Meal times are never rushed

Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10.00am

Lunch is served from 12.30pm onwards

Supper is served from 5.00pm onwards

Our homemade dishes are made from fresh meat, fresh fruit & vegetables that are supplied locally and we cater for any special dietary requirements.

We offer hot drinks and snacks throughout the day and night just as if you were living at home. We don’t expect residents to always eat in the dining room, if they prefer, they can choose the peace and quiet of their own room or, on fine days, they can eat in the garden.

Our day shift is from 7.30am to 4.30pm

Our evening shift is from 4.30pm to 10.30pm

Our night shift is from 10.30pm to 7.30am

We always have a senior carer on duty at all times and we take care of the administration & ordering of medication.
We encourage residents to bring their own reminders of home, such as small pieces of furniture, pictures, ornaments and other special mementos. All of our bedrooms are on the ground floor and have en suite facilities. We use a local specialist company Furncare who furnish our bedrooms to the highest standard.

Every prospective resident will have their needs expertly assessed before a decision on admission is taken so that we are confident we can meet their needs as assessed.

To ensure a constant peace of mind, there is a nurse call system in each bedroom, bathroom and lounge, which residents can use to call for assistance at any time. We have trained staff on duty 24 hours a day, all year round. Our team of staff are very experienced in helping residents to get the most out of life and to feel totally at home in a warm, understanding, safe and caring environment. We are highly skilled in caring for older people living with the experience of dementia and helping them to feel safe, happy and part of the community at St Georges.

On admission to St Georges each new resident will be registered with the Beccles Health Centre and allocated a GP. For those residents already registered at the Beccles Health Centre, their own GP will continue to provide their medical care.

There are no set routines for the residents to follow as we cater for each resident’s individual needs.
